Mistake #1

Showing up to Lake Texoma with one method of striper fishing. You read reports and have made up your mind that live bait fishing in 20 feet of water with 3/4oz egg sinker rig is the technique you will use no matter what! The problem with pre-judging your method of striper fishing on Lake Texoma is it changes day to day and hour to hour! Most of the reports you read on the world wide web are from a week ago or more.

Solution #1

Be a weather watcher! Pay close attention to your local weather all week and be willing to adjust your game plan. Is it sunny and warm? Did it rain all week? Did a cold front blow through? Sunny and warm will drive Texoma Striper into deeper water to find a water temperature and oxygen level they are comfortable with. Why do the striper move to deeper water in warm weather? Their all you can eat buffet moved to deeper water! Find the threadfin shad and the striper will be close!
